Do you want to learn how to make those kinds of flower arrangements that often get featured on TV or magazines?

There are no hard and fast rules, but there are steps that you can take in order to create your own beautiful flower arrangements that you can be proud of.

Tip #1: Use Your Instincts

Rules? Forget the rules! There is an artist in every one of us. Some are just dormant and sleeping, waiting for you to come wake it up. What better time than now? And the great thing about flower arrangements is that it takes so little from you to make them look beautiful. After all, flowers are things of beauty on their own.

Instead, trust your instincts. Let your eyes be your guide. Just pay attention and you will instantly know which flower arrangements are more pleasing to the eyes.

Tip #3: Cluster Small Flowers in Groups

It’s far from the rule of thumb, but you can never go wrong if you do this. Have you noticed how small flowers tend to disappear when placed in large flower arrangements? With all these large and more assertive blooms around them, the small flowers get overwhelmed. Moreover, they are also harder to grab and reposition.

By grouping smaller flowers together, it would be easier for you handle them and give your flower arrangements a more distinctive impression. You can do this by putting them close to each other or bundling them together with the use of a ribbon, rubber bands, floral wire, or floral tape.

Tip #4: On Single Blooms

Another common arrangement that people often resort to is a lone rose in a bud vase. While single bloom types of flower arrangements are always elegant, experiment with this method and add your own style. You can, for instance, make several single bloom flower arrangements positioned in several parts of the house – from small blooms inside wine glasses or tea cups to large blooms in bowls. That way, the lone rose in a bud vase can look even more distinctive in a room full of different flower arrangements.

Tip #5: Use the Right Container

If you must follow one rule, this is it: use containers that match the type of flower arrangements. The good news is that most flower arrangements are unique. So match them up with unique containers as well.

You do not have to arrange your flowers in a typical vase. If you feel that your blooms look prettier in a different container, then do so. You can even use bottles, smaller vases, tea cups, wine glasses – the works. And the overall effect would be a refreshing look to your flower arrangements.

In making his American dream a reality, Arnold “Sonny” Canale acquired Lombardi Florist in 1957 where he has been an employee since 1943. Even in the early 1900’s, it was already a successful business. Two years after he bought the company, he married a woman named Russo whence they merged their operations. Forecasting the change of economy in the entry of the new millennium, Sonny adopted the label of Exotic Flowers as its primary signature starting in 1993.

By 1994, Exotic Flowers opened another satellite location at 2 Dartmouth Street in the southern end of Boston. The following year they expanded their services by taking another shop in Route 3A at Cohasset. Not long ago, in 2001, they can be visited at Greenhouse of Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Their original domicile in Roslindale still exists where all the orders and reservations are bridged from there. In time, it remains an entirely family- owned corporation. As a matter of fact, all their children have roles to play for its continued progress.

Exotic Flowers specializes in large inventory of fresh flora, traditional arrangements, funeral designs, tropical plants, weddings, pottery, statuary, chocolates, balloons, dish gardens, gourmet baskets and high- style floral arrangements, among others. They actually cater to a wide field which now consists of the corporate world, baptismal celebrations, warm greetings, romantic dates and autumn bouquets, to name a few.

Teleflora’s Radiant is an example of autumn bouquet that reveals the bounty of fall with sparkling golden pumpkin container. It bursts with blossoms in warm tones which will make a terrific centerpiece in any space with unique ceramic finished in metalized copper color. It consists of roses and chrysanthemums that have been sprayed in hues of either bronze, terra- cotta or green. It is sold at $59. 95.

Food Bucket is an example for warm greetings where it can unmistakably satisfy anybody’s craving. Those who have a sweet tooth will love this as it is filled with great treat not just for the young ones to enjoy but also the young once. Jellybeans, candy bars, lollipops and more are inside a galvanized tin jar that is embellished with bright curling ribbons. It is sold at $70.

Deluxe European is an example for corporate world where a colorful mixture of kalanchoe, gerberas, begonias, azaleas and violets, which came from Africa, are housed in a beautiful native basket that you can still use when the plants wither away. It will stay for a longer while. It is also accompanied by dieffenbachia as well as with ivy. It is sold at $170.

For your orders, you can contact Exotic Flowers at 800-706-1200 or visit their website at www.exoticflowers.com to view their wonderful and splendid creations.

“Are you out of your mind you are going to eat what they call as edible flowers?” you thought as you stared in complete amazement on the meal right in front of you. In the first place, is there such? Just then you heard your companion tell you bluntly, “Hey, do not be such an ignorant. Stop ranting at the food; instead try it before you say those things. For your information, it is actually the new rage in haute cuisine. This restaurant is adventurous when it comes to the matter of the stomach. You then stop in belief and agreed that you have become badly informed of the latest. So instead, you munched on a spoonful of the edible flowers and found yourself smiling in satisfaction.

Akin to what Douglas McArthur uttered when he stepped into the shores of Leyte in the Philippines, edible flowers are back in vogue after years of being away in the scene of culinary arts. History would trace it back from the Roman period to the Chinese spreading to the Middle Eastern and down to the cultures of India. It was especially famous in the Victorian era. Presently, there is a lot of chefs that have put novelty in their cooking styles. You can hear their finished products holler that “if technology knows all too well about innovation, then we are not far from the line.” There are plenty that garnish their entrees with plant blossoms to give that touch of elegance.

The secret behind applying edible flowers is really just to keep the recipe as simple as possible. It will be the presentation that is intricate. As they say, when it is visually tempting, so it is even satisfying when you land it in the mouth. Do not add too many other flavors as they will overpower the delicate taste the edible flowers have. You may ask what the examples are if you are planning to experiment at home. You actually need not go any further from the kitchen where artichokes, broccoli and cauliflower are commonly available. There is also the spice saffron, which is the stamen that comes from the crocus flower. Native of the Mediterranean and Asia, capers are also one breed that are unopened buds to a bush.

Don’t be too excited at this instant; there is one very important thing to know - not all flowers are considered edible. As a matter of fact, when you sample them, some could make you sick. If they thrive at your backyard, do not ever apply pesticides or any chemical to avoid contamination. Carefully identify if those blossoms can be eaten or not.

Have you seen dried flowers before? Not the kind that dry naturally on the plant. The people who are so fond of preserving flowers are mostly women and artists. Women, most particularly young ones, are those who take some of the flowers they received from someone special and let the flowers dry by inserting them in their books, notebook, or diaries. It may sound corny to you, but it does happen. Another way to preserve your favorite fresh flowers is to air-dry them by hanging them upside down or freeze-dry them.

The reason why certain people like to keep dried flowers is mostly to preserve the memories of a special occasion or someone. Even if carefully dried, flowers are not everlasting. Dried flowers may be less prone to damage than fresh ones, but they are also susceptible and can’t be preserved the way you want it if you don’t give extra effort and time to take good care of them. Therefore, you have to learn how to ideally preserve your favorite flower and below are some of the tips on how.

To start with, the colors of flowers eventually fade and there’s nothing you can do to stop the process. However, you can still do something about to keep their color by using aerosol paints and dyes. You just slightly tint the petals and stems of your dried flowers to somehow maintain the fresh appearance.

The next thing you should know about is potential damage caused by insects such as beetles, roaches, and many others. See to it that the containers you are putting in the flowers to dry are tightly closed so as not to let those insects to get into your preserved blossoms. Another way to prevent damages due to insects is to check from time to time the inner side of the container and if you find any, better take immediate action. You can sprinkle naphthalene flakes in the box or spray insecticides to get rid of the insects. As the saying goes: prevention is better than cure, which means all these problems can be avoided if you strictly check up on your dried flower container regularly.

Now that you know how to properly care for your preserved flowers, you should not forget the mere fact that even with extra care, your dried flowers won’t last forever. But, don’t let that thought spoil your day, instead enjoy them while you can.

By merely listening to a track of David Bowie entitled “Changes”, Brandon Flowers realized that he wanted to be part of the music industry. He was born in Las Vegas, Nevada but was later raised in Nephi, Utah. Growing up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- ay Saints, he is the youngest among six siblings. With only one older brother and the rest as girls, he attributed much of his fashion style to his sisters. By the age of fifteen, he was permitted by his parents to go back to his native place and live together with his aunt.

When Brandon Flowers encountered a fellow fan in a golf course who also knew how to play an instrument, they decided to form their own group which they named Blush Response. It is a synth pop outfit that took its domicile in Los Angeles, California. Their career was short lived though, since Flowers was booted out in 2001 when he refused to change location. He did not sing for them, instead he performed with keyboards. Their original composition “The Victim” was part of the Various Artist collection called “Electricity” under the label of Ninthwave Records. However, it remained anonymous that Flowers had a role during its recording.

The event did not stopped Brandon Flowers in pursuing his dreams. When he noticed a classified of David Keuning in a local daily, he made an immediate response by contacting the number found on the advertisement. According to Keuning, Flowers was the only individual who made a reply and not a complete freak. He also said that Flowers brought along his keyboards and they started to go through some songs together. At that instant, they were able to compose a song entitled “Mr. Brightside”, which is the only track that they present in every single show they had. Since then, “The Killers” was born together with other members such as Mark Stoermer on bass and Ronnie Vannucci on drums.

Brandon Flowers with his newly established band, The Killers, had some of their early gigs at a gay drag club in Las Vegas. They were inspired by New Order’s music video for “Crystal” where they derived their identity. After the times spent in bars, word about them soon spread to the extent that they captured the attention of a British music label called Lizard King. It was that avenue where they made their entry to United Kingdom, their first tour outside the United States. Those who saw their act left unanimously enamored while their subsequent appearance at New York inked a deal with Island Records. From there, the four boys set on foot once more as they sold out their own headline shows including a full Valentine’s Day affair at ICA in London.

Flower of the month club by Proflowers.com is a cool gift. Every month, the seasonal flower of the month is delivered. It’s a great gift for women who really dig flowers.

Bird of Paradise flowers are spectacular blossoms. There’s no stopping you from admiring such beautiful creations on this planet. Although most flowers are fantastic, but you just can’t deny the unique beauty of Bird of Paradise flowers.

The Bird of Paradise, native to South Africa, is a large tropical herb that was classified as a member of the banana family - or Musaceae, probably because of the shape of its leaves, which resembles that of banana leaves. At present, its scientific name is Strelitzia reginae. It is also ranked in the division of Magnoliophyta, class Liliopsida, and order Zingeberales. Obviously, the name Bird of Paradise simply comes from its spectacular blossoms that look like birds if being watched from afar.

The Bird of Paradise flowers are breath-taking blossoms where long stemmed flowers come out from green boat-shaped bracts that are bordered in red or purple. Actually, you find many sets of flowers in foliage, which gather on the end of a stalk. They have extraordinary combination of distinctive shape and dazzling colors that perfectly suit their name. The many pointed petals of radiant orange are contrasted with an arrow-shaped tongue of striking blue. There are also species of Bird of Paradise flower that have white and blue shades. This plant normally begins to blossom in succession over a period of time in the winter and spring.

If you want to plant and enjoy your own Bird of Paradise flowers from seed, it may take you five to seven years, but the waiting period is worth once the plant starts to bloom. If this information does not discourage you and won’t stop you from having your own Bird of Paradise, then you might as well know how to care for them. In order to have an ideal result, you should know the following tips.

Bird of Paradise should get a good amount of sun light; however it needs protection below 30 degrees, the fact that it’s a tropical plant.

It should be fertilized with appropriate fertilizer and make sure not to over-fertilize. Simply follow the directions and give only enough as directed. Remember, too much of anything doesn’t do any good, whether to people, animals or plants.

Bird of Paradise responds well to trimming, you may want to try doing it.
Do not over-water the plant. It is best that the roots can dry out fairly in between watering.

When ordering anniversary flowers, whether online or through mail-order, there are some important things to think about. So before you place that order, be sure to ask yourself the following questions:

* Who is the recipient?
* What is your relationship with him or her?
* Where do you want the anniversary flowers to be delivered?
* Will you be sending the anniversary flowers to someone’s home? To the office? Some place special?
* What flower captures best the occasion and your sentiment perfectly?

The Meaning of Flowers
You probably know by now that flowers have several different meanings. They are not just things of beauty. They are also a means by which you can communicate what you truly feel. So choose and buy anniversary flowers that say what you really mean!

Show your “devotion” to your beloved by sending him or her a bouquet of alstromerias. Or you could send in asters as a “symbol of your love”, baby’s breath for “happiness”, and daffodils to tell him/her that s/he is “your only one”.

Carnations have varied meanings. Pink means “I’ll never forget you”, red means “my heart aches for you”, and white means “innocence” or “pure love.”

But if you want real variety, the rose, a popular anniversary flower, has meanings that could confuse you. From colors to the number of blooms in a bouquet, roses are truly the traditional flowers to use when telling someone how you feel.

* Single Full Bloom – I love you
* Bouquet of Mature Roses – gratitude
* Rosebud – beauty and youth
* Thornless Rose – love at first sight
* Peach Rose – desire and excitement
* Pink Rose – perfect happiness, please believe me
* Red Rose – love, I love you, passion
* Red and White Rose – unity, humility
* White Rose – innocence and purity, I am worthy of you
* Yellow Rose – friendship, decrease of love, jealousy

Flowers are beautiful on their own. Even so, a great flower arrangement could serve to enhance their natural beauty and brighten up the room. The same goes with artificial flowers. Below are some basic artificial flower arrangements that you can use to make your room look attractive.

Before you start making your artificial flower arrangements, remember the rule: artificial flowers are different from real flowers in all aspects. So even if you have experience designing flower arrangements for real flowers, it might take some getting used to before you can learn to make artificial flower arrangements. The steps below should help you get started.

Horizontal Artificial Flower Arrangements
1. Use a relatively shallow container and anchor foam to the bottom, using a lot of glue or using anchor pins. Insert the sprays of line flowers, positioning them to establish the shape of the artificial flower arrangement design.
2. Next, insert focal flowers in the middle. Let them droop over the lip of the container on both sides, reaching towards the line material and extending on either side of the middle. Make sure that there is enough room in your artificial flower arrangement for the filler flowers.
3. Now, add the filler flowers and foliage around the focal area to finish the design.

Vertical Artificial Flower Arrangements

1. Using a long-stemmed vase, wedge or secure the foam with hot glue. Then, select the tallest flowers from the bunch and cut the stems to reach three or four times the height of the vase. Do the same with the foliage.
2. Next, place the focal flowers vertically within the diameter of the vase.
3. Then, insert the filler flowers, filling in the area as needed to complete the artificial flower arrangement.

Triangular Artificial Flower Arrangements

1. Use a bowl-type base, not too long nor too flat. Secure the floral foam to the bottom using glue or anchor pins. Using the smallest line flowers and/or leaves, determine the vertical height and the horizontal width of your artificial flower arrangement. The only rule to follow is to make the height greater than the width.
2. Place the largest focal flowers in the center of the artificial flower arrangement and slightly lower than the rest to give weight and balance.
3. Finally, fill in with the filler flowers and foliage to keep within the triangular shape.

Crescent Artificial Flower Arrangements

1. You need a tray-shaped vase. Carefully anchor the foam to the bottom using glue or anchor pins. After determining the length of the crescent, insert curved line flowers or leaves. Position them to follow the crescent form of the artificial flower arrangement and angle the shape to achieve balance in the container.
2. Insert the focal flowers. Be sure to place them in the fairly low portion of the bowl to ensure balance, stability and depth in your arrangement.
3. Finally, fill in around the focal flowers with smaller flowers and foliage. To give your crescent artificial flower arrangement look even more graceful, place wisps of filler flowers to taper off the ends.

Silk or real; what’s a bride to do? For many brides, the question is really perplexing — especially for those who want to mix a dash of “Do-It-Yourself” into their wedding flower preparations.

Obviously, silk comes with some advantages — it’s tough and shelf stable, and the petals won’t come off at the worst possible moment. On the other hand, silk flowers don’t always look real, and they aren’t always a bargain, either.

The fact is, the silk versus real dilemma is more confusing than ever, thanks in part due to the increasing sophistication — and accompanying cost — of silk and latex flowers. To navigate this new terrain, we interviewed Paul Ajao, a professional florist and cofounder of Pure Botanics, a UK-based floral designer who specializes in weddings.

You keep hearing that silk flowers have gotten “better and better.” Yet when you go to the local craft store, they look just about as artificial as ever. Where are these super-realistic flowers, and how can a bride get her hands on them?

It’s true that artificial flowers have improved. But the quality varies widely from brand to brand. In addition to craft stores, take a look at which brands your local florists are using. After all, their reputation depends on delivering a beautiful result. Also, they might be able to order in artificial flowers for you — ones that you can’t get in the craft stores.

One brand with a great reputation that florists use regularly is Sia, which you can find in the UK, US and Australia.

Is it true that artificial flowers photograph poorly? And does that include the high-end latex type? When you take close-ups of artificial flowers, yes, it can be pretty obvious that the flowers aren’t real. But this depends a lot on the quality of the artificial flowers you’ve used.

Remember that any shiny surfaces may cause the camera flash to “bounce,” which looks pretty unnatural for flowers. The common off-the-shelf flowers can be pretty shiny.

One argument for silk flowers is that fresh flowers are seasonal, but some florists are suggesting that season isn’t so important these days — that almost everything can be imported all year round. Are you finding this to be true?

Well, some of the most common cut flowers, such as roses, gerberas (gerber daisies) and orchids, are available all year round. So you don’t have to worry about seasonality with these flowers.

But others, like peonies, lily of the valley and ranunculus, have a definite season. Expect to pay more if you buy out of season. And the quality may not be as good.

Just to illustrate how important season can be: a florist we know planned her whole wedding around the very brief time in spring when lily of the valley was in season, so she could use fresh!

What’s your personal feelings on silk vs. artificial flowers? As a professional florist, would you mix them in arrangements — for example, use silk for the super-pricy flowers like calla lilies or orchids?

Personally, we love working with real flowers. But it’s true that silk definitely comes with some advantages. For starters:

- They won’t wilt.
- They’re a lasting memento of your big day.
- They’re easy to transport if you’re getting married abroad.
- You can prepare them long in advance.

The last point’s important if you’re preparing flowers yourself. By their nature, you have to arrange fresh flowers the day before the wedding at the earliest — and usually the morning of. This doesn’t leave you much time to switch gears if you aren’t happy with the results. On the other hand, you can experiment with and arrange silk flowers weeks in advance. That leaves you plenty of time to relax and pamper yourself in the run up to your wedding!

And yes, you can mix artificial and real flowers with great results. A friend of ours loves ranunculus and wanted them in a mixed bouquet with roses and gerberas. Unfortunately, ranunculus was out of season for her wedding date, and would have cost a lot. So she opted to tuck artificial ranunculus into a fresh bouquet. The results, and the photos, were beautiful.

Anything else you want to add?

Contrary to popular opinion, don’t think that silk flowers are always going to be cheaper than real. Many of the quality ones are as expensive as the real thing — if not more.

Flower bouquets are of various shapes and styles and vary in sizes from small to large. A round bouquet is simple and elegant. It is a traditional style that is suitable for both formal and an informal wedding. The flowers can be tied in a cluster or loosely arranged. However, the flowers chosen for the bouquet can influence the formality of the bouquet. For a more formal look, roses would fit the bill while daises project a casual and informal look. A cascading style bouquet can be designed very dense with flowers and foliage or arranged more loosely for an airy look. This type of elongated bouquet implies sophistication and features fullness and an abundance of blossoms at the top tapering down with flowing floral streamers, foliage and ribbons. The basket bouquet has flowers arranged in a smaller basket. These are often used in garden-like settings – carried mostly by flower girls and junior bridesmaids.

A bride’s bouquet should complement her personality, attire and proportion, since a bride’s bouquet is one of the important wedding accessories. Brides who are tall should carry a large bouquet or a cascading style bouquet while a short bride should consider a small bouquet. The bigger and longer the bouquet the more flowers it will require thereby escalating the cost.

Most flowers have a meaning. For example violets mean modesty and hope, ivy means fidelity, friendship and marriage, tulips mean enchantment and a dozen red roses means romance or ‘be mine’. Hence, when choosing your flower bouquet for that special day these aspects can be considered. Flowers for the bouquet should be selected also from the point of view of lasting for the entire day. Flowers should look gorgeous when you walk down the aisle

Air drying and floral pressing date back to before Egyptian times. However, freeze -dry methods, have today become perfected and is employed extensively in the floral market too, besides the pharmaceutical manufactures and food producers. Floral freeze drying has been mastered over the last 15 years or so and has become a combination of science and art. If done properly freeze-drying does not make the flowers brittle and lifeless as compared to traditional methods.

In order to protect your flower bouquets few aspects have to be looked into: whether the company undertaking freeze-drying pre treat and rehydrate flowers before freeze-drying them. This helps retain the colours and opens the cells so that they freeze-dry having a natural look.

Whether, the flowers have been post-treated after freezing-drying. Each flower is coated with a thin transparent layer, protecting them from light and humidity. These steps require time and labour and if not ensured, your flower bouquet will not retain its natural splendor reducing its life span.

There are a number of ways for having flowers delivered to a special friend, a loved one, or an associate. One of the many ways to deliver flowers to someone is to deliver it yourself. You can personally go to your local florists and choose the flowers and take it to her place. In doing so, you will not miss out seeing the surprise and joy on her face. Having taken the flowers personally over, you can further help her place them in water, showing to her the great and caring guy you are. Another way of giving flowers to that special person in your life is by surprising her at her work spot. Women love being elated and most women would like to be the centre of attention if not just for a little while. This would not only make her feel proud and cherished but also have her colleagues saying what a caring and nice person you are.

The quickest way to deliver flowers to your family living in another city or to send a corporate gift to another country is to use the international flower delivery services of the big floral companies. There are numerous online florists and by using the big search engines, will be able to find international delivery services. These online vendors also offer a variety of products like floral gift baskets and hampers and other unique gifts for every occasion.

Many big companies have a network consisting of professional local florists worldwide. You can order online for same day or next day delivery. Flowers can also be sent over overseas with the international flower service that many of the big companies operate. You will however, have to pay an additional shipping fee in order to have your flowers delivered. These companies ensure you that the recipient will enjoy the beautiful fresh flowers and plants, secure ordering and guaranteed satisfaction.

Ordering from a florist you have never used before or a small-time florist listed in your neighborhood phone directory could result in a nasty surprise, when yellow roses arrive instead of the long-stemmed red roses or carnations are delivered instead of roses ordered or worse still you are charged more than the cost agreed upon. These things do happen. Therefore, before ordering from the listings in the local phone book check-out the number. Ask for directions to the shop or the address. If they hesitate or try to put you off, drop the idea. These maybe bogus numbers directed to a telemarketing operation. These people are known as ‘petal pushers’, who are unscrupulous florists. The telemarketer takes the order and your credit card information. The order is then forwarded to the local florist and the telemarketer pockets a processing fee usually a percentage of the total order. You are being scammed. However, it will come to light only when you are over charged or the flowers delivered are not what were ordered or worse still they may never be delivered.

In your search for a real local florist, the Internet is a great first port of call. But there are also other resources. Try your local phone directory or a guide to your local town (look in your town’s tourist information bureau). Both should give you a list of florists in your area and tell you something about them too.
Â
Then, of course, there are recommendations from friends and other people you know. Often word of mouth is the best form of advertising and the best referral. A florist with a good reputation stands out.
Â
However, when you want to send flowers, your highest priority is usually the quality, the price and the delivery time. Once you’ve researched local florists, it always pays to visit. Depending on where you live, you may have many to choose from. Here’s where recommendations are good, because if you know anyone who sends flowers on a regular basis, they’ll often be able to give good recommendations.
Â
A gift of flowers comes straight from the heart, which is why you want to be assured that the florist who sends flowers for you is providing the highest quality service. Even if their premises look good, and they seem to know what they are doing, how can you know that the flowers you send will remain fresh for the longest time and arrive at their destination with that freshly-picked look?
Â
How do you know the florist will give you the personal attention and advice you need? As a guide, consider the following points you when choosing a florist: First, they should provide the service, the design style and the products that you like. Then, they should offer you personal attention like keeping track of your preferences.
Â
The florist should offer helpful suggestions about the flowers you send. And they should also provide a guarantee if you are not happy with the service or product for whatever reason. They should preferably offer a wide variety of flowers and floral styles and demonstrate creativity. After all, you do want a beautiful arrangement.
Â
Finally, consider a florist who has some form of professional affiliation. One who does will often have a professional standard they must meet and will be professionally trained. A well-established florist who’s been in the business in one location for a number of years would be a good choice.
Â
Keep these points in mind when you visit or phone. Note which are most important to you and focus on these.
Â
No matter what you’ve been told or what you’ve read, if you don’t feel comfortable with a particular florist, or don’t like their designs, keep looking. You want a florist who will make the flower arrangements you like. You need someone who will work to your specifications rather than dismissing you as someone who knows nothing and doing what they like. Your florist should be able to give you helpful suggestions, but ultimately should agree to your wishes if they want your business.
